Green Bay went into the 2011 NFL playoffs, a wildcard team, however they managed to gain victory over Philadelphia in the wildcard round, stomped over Atlanta in the divisional round and beat the bears in the NFL championsip to win a place in Super Bowl XLV. Whereas Pittsburgh had a smoother road to tread down to gain a place in the final by disposing over Baltimore in the Divisional Round match up, and then battled hard and stood resolute to onslaughts from the Jets in the AFC championship game to get their name on the banner of this year's game.
