Chelsea 2 Blackburn 0 highlights 15/1/11
The blues will be hoping the stunning 7-0 demolition of poor Ipswich can stand them in good stead and help them get back into their winning stride in the premier league when they face Blackburn at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Chelsea have had to cope with having their worst run of form in the league for 15 years with only one victory out of the last 9 games but last Sunday's 5 star display showed hints of the ability that got them to the top of the league early on in the campaign and they will be hoping to carry the morale and form into tomorrow's fixture with Rovers to help them catch up with the pace of leaders Man United, who are 9 points ahead of Chelsea with a game in hand.
In the match at Ewood park this season between the sides, Rovers matched the champions for a lot of the match. They also come into Saturday's match on the back of an impressive 3-1 win over Liverpool which culminated in the sacking of Roy Hodgson after the match. Will a defeat for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge bring Ancelotti's reign into question with the Chelsea board? There would definitely be serious questions asked of him if they were to get nothing from the match. In the 100 meetings between the two sides, Chelsea have won 40, Blackburn 32 and there have been 28 draws, but Blackburn have not won at Stamford Bridge in seven attempts since February 2003.
