Arsenal 3 Wigan 0 highlights 22/1/11

Arsenal will be hoping to keep up the fine form they showed against Leeds midweek and keep putting pressure on leaders Manchester United at the top of the league. The Gunners have regained some momentum after a few shakey performances of late and so they will be wanting to raise the roof at the Emirates stadium with a five star display over a weary Wigan side who are languishing in the bottom three. Arsenal however have not been able to turn over the Lancashire club in their past 2 meetings, albeit they were at Wigan's DW stadium, so that may give Wigan some confidence going into Saturday's match, which in their current predicament, is as valuble as gold.

Wigan drew with Fulham last week and see themselves with only 4 wins chalked up on the board for this campaign so far. They will start having to clock up more if they have hope of surviving the drop in May, although the prospect of them finding 3 points against Arsenal on Saturday looks very bleak. However, they have managed to hold the Gunners in their last 2 matches so it isn't completely hopeless they could snatch a victory. The match takes place at the Emirates and kicks off at 3pm.
