watch liverpool vs blackpool live online
Liverpool welcome premiership new boys Blackpool to Anfield today and hope they clock up some more points in the rebuilding process which began with Roy Hodgson's appointment at the start of this season and sees the reds with an uneven start to the campaign and room for improvement. Blackpool and their entertaining boss, Ian Holloway, will take much needed encouragement from the way Sunderland battled a week ago to earn a draw at Anfield and should be looking for pointers from their performance which will aid his side in getting something from the match.
Liverpool welcome back Gerrard to midfield, after the player was rested in their match at Utrecht midweek and manager Roy Hodgson will be hoping he can inspire his side with some creative play in the centre of the park today. However it looks like left backs Konchesky and Fabio Aurelio will miss out through injury and deputy left back Daniel Agger has a groin strain which ruled him out of the trip to the Netherlands.
Veteran defender Jamie Carragher knows that Liverpool must be cautious of Blackpool's threat today and knows if the reds lapse then the seasiders may cause an upset over the merseysiders. Speaking before the match he said: "Blackpool have been the story of the season. They will be desperate to make a statement at Anfield and it's up to us to match their enthusiasm. We've got to make sure we get the three points and start moving up the league. We've got to match them for spirit."
The tangerines will have to see out the match without trusty defender Alex Baptiste on their trip to Anfield. He missed the visit of Blackburn last week after having a recurring knee ligament issue but has now undergone an operation to fix it and the 24 year old will have to face a lengthy layoff of a few weeks along with Louis Almond, Malaury Martin and Billy Clarke.
Ian Holloway is wary of Fernando Torres and insists that striker is a "total threat" going forward despite the forward's recent lackluster displays and only scoring 1 goal in 8 games but Holloway insists that he shouldn't be underestimated and that it would prove costly if Blackpool did.
"He has had some injuries and I think he is one of the best centre-forwards in the world,'' Holloway said."When you get in little ruts like this it is difficult for any player, particularly for one of the best players in the world, to deal with those ups and downs. I think he has been an absolute sensation since he joined Liverpool and I'm in awe of him really because as a centre-forward, he has got everything. He has got blinding pace and he can finish with his left, right or head. He is a total threat, a goal machine, and they are allowed to go off the boil every now and again. The cream always rises to the top, although I don't want him to do that on Sunday. Hopefully his lack of form will continue against us, but I don't believe that for one minute."
The match will be streamed on various sites today online. One of the sites which will be streaming it is the one below.
