The Scotland team will be looking for an encouraging result today against the Czechs
in Prague after a decent but modest start in their first 2 matches with a slender 2-1 defeating of minnows Liechtenstein and a goalless draw against Lithuania. If Craig Levein's side could win in Prague today it could launch a real charge towards the european championships in Poland and Ukraine in 2012. That outcome is looking more promising when you examine the Czech team's only match in the qualifiers thus far being a shock 1-0 defeat to a side which is usually a league below them in class, in Lithuania. This puts the Czechs under the kosh and they will need to turn over the Scots today if they want to be the main threat to Spain's charge in Group I of qualifying. For the Scotland team, big changes see favourite Kenny Miller dropped in favour of QPR's Jamie Mackie who gets his first international cap. Allan McGregor has overcome a thigh injury to keep goal and Alan Hutton and Steven Whittaker have been given the all clear to feature in the full back spots if chosen. David Weir and Stephen McManus will maintain the central defence and players Darren Fletcher, Gary Caldwell, Graham Dorrans, James Morrison and Steven Naismith are all available to play.
