Tottenham 3 Charlton 0 highlights 9/1/11

Tottenham will be hoping for a positive result on Sunday when they entertain fellow Londoners Charlton at White Hart Lane. Their last outing was a disappointing 3-1 defeat at Goodison Park to Everton on Wednesday night and they will be wanting to maintain the glorious ora that has surrounded teh club this season with brilliant results domestically and abroad. Spurs have won the FA cup eight times including five times when the year has ended in one, a good omen? Perhaps. They lifted the trophy in 1901, 1921, 1961, 1981 and 1991, and with Spurs' stellar displays on the field this year, they have a great chance of going all the way and lifting the cup again.

The Addicks go into Sunday's match managerless and with Keith Peacock as the caretaker manager after Phil Parkinson was given the boot following the 4-2 defeat to Swindon. They haven't won in 5 matches, with 3 draws and 2 defeat so they have the odds stacked against them but they also have nothing to lose from a fixture that everyone expects them to be defeated in. They were initially in second place this season, but after this poor form are now in fifth in League one, nine points adrift of leaders Brighton.
