Manchester United 3 Aston Villa 1 match highlights 1/2/11

Manchester United 3 Aston Villa 1 match highlights 1/2/11

Manchester United have been getting wins the hard way lately, having to come from behind to beat Blackpool and Southampton and their last match against Villa was yet ANOTHER comeback. With 9 minutes to go, the midlanders were 2-0 up and on their way to a win over United but goals from Macheda and Vidic snatched a draw for United. They always manage to have the insatiable ability to never let hope die in a match. The self belief in the United players Sir Alex Ferguson has garnered in his time at United is astounding and is one of the main reasons why for 18 seasons the club has never finished outside the top 3 in the league. Whether United feel so generous on Tuesday night is to be seen. Their unbeaten record is still going strong, with 15 matches left in the league, can they do it? Their confidence is that immense at the moment, it looks very possible and with West Brom being the only side in the league that has took any points away from Old Trafford this season, when they held them to a 2-2 draw earlier in the season, Aston Villa certainly have their work cut out for them.

Certainly with them having a tough season the task will seem gigantic but they have raised morale with wins over Manchester City and Wigan which has lifted them away from the drop zone and they will be hoping that their win at Old Trafford last season can provide some confidence when going into Tuesday's match. You can watch the live football match kicks off at 8pm and takes place at Old Trafford.

Sunderland 2 Chelsea 4 match highlights 1/2/11

Sunderland 2 Chelsea 4 match highlights 1/2/11

Sunderland and Chelsea are both in the pack for the race of making sure they are part of European competition next season. After Chelsea's huge derailing in the title race and getting back on their feet as of late, their main priority must be to make the champions league next season at least. If they don't manage that it will be a disaster of a season for them. As for Sunderland, they will be hoping they can keep up their proud form and land a spot in the Europa league next season.

The two clubs are very evenly matches this season and whereas the blues are 4 points ahead, Sunderland have lost one less match than the champions thus far. Chelsea of course will be looking to gain revenge for their humiliating 3-0 defeat to Sunderland earlier in the season and will expect at least a draw when they travel to the Stadium Of Light.

Sunderland's defence in their last few games has been relatively water tight whilst Chelsea's last few outings have seen them scoring for fun. Something should give in the contest in the North East on Tuesday night. The wearsiders will also have to keep their discipline in check as they have got 4 red cards already this season and won't want to have to face a team who are hard enough to play with 11 men. You can watch the live football match when it kicks off at 7:45pm and takes place at the Stadium Of Light.

Arsenal 2 Everton 1 highlights 1/2/11

Arsenal 2 Everton 1 highlights 1/2/11

Arsenal have had a very memorable month of games, despite the one off blip againt Ipswich in the carling cup semi final 1st leg, whereas they went on to resoundly finish them off in the second leg. They now see themselves in the final of the Carling Cup and a wait of almost six years without any silverware over if they can manage to win in the final. This positive prospect for the club will put them in good stead for the league campaign which they return to on Tuesday night when they meet Everton. The gunners are lagging behind league leaders Manchester United by 5 points and they will desperately want to keep up with the pace if they want to be in with a shot of putting their hands on their first league title since the invincibles season of 2003-2004.

Everton have been a positive, free flowing side this season. The problem was that they haven't been able to convert enough chances into goals and seeing them in the good half of the league. They have lost fewer games than anyone else outside the top six and so the remedy needed is clear. Everton will be hoping to take something away from the Emirates after Tuesday night and bolster their morale for the remainder of the campaign. The live football match kicks off at 7:45pm and takes place at the emirates stadium.

Southampton 1 Manchester United 2 highlights 29/1/11

Southampton 1 Manchester United 2 highlights 29/1/11

Southampton's only major honour to date is the 1976 FA Cup where they were victors over Saturday's opponents, Manchester United. The match cluminated with Bobby Stokes scoring in the 83rd minute against, on the day, a very lacklustre United side. The last time the 2 teams met, which was roughly 2 years ago, in the 3rd round of the FA Cup, it was a comprehensive afair with United easing past the south coast club 3-0 with goals from Darren Gibson, Danny Welbeck and Nanu. That may be an initial psychological setback for the Saints but there will be no pressure on the npower league side and they are expected to lose against the premier league leaders and so will no go into the game with any real fear.

Manchester United are the team who has appeared in the most FA cup finals. 18 to be exact with 11 wins. Albeit their last triumph was back in 2004, beating Millwall 3-0, and since then they have appeared twice in the final and lost. Losing on penalties to Arsenal in 2005 and losing 1-0 to Chelsea in extra time in 2007. They also reached the semi finals in 2009, losing on penalties to Everton. So there is definitely a desire within the United camp to want to regain the trophy they, at the moment, have the best all time record in. The match takes place at the St Mary's Stadium and kicks off at 5:15pm.

Everton 1 Chelsea 1 highlights 29/1/11

Everton 1 Chelsea 1 highlights 29/1/11

Chelsea are on the up and up of late. With a disastrous slide which was at it's worst between October and December, in their last three matches they have scored 13 times and the likelihood of the season bearing fruit with trophies looks more likely. Drogba and Anelka are back to their usual exploits in front of goal alongside Florent Malouda and are turning things round as a formidable force. The London blues have not conceded since Jose Bosingwa’s 5th-minute own goal in the 1-0 loss to Wolves in early January and with David Moyes sides strikeforce stuttering in front of goal, The toffeemen will hae to graft to be able to break down the champions when they visit Goodison Park.

The crux of Everton's dour displays this season are all sourced back to that mishap with lacking the firepower up front in games. They have only scored 14 goals at home all season, almost as much as what Chelsea have merely netted in their last 3 matches. Tim Cahill has been the top marksman in front of goal for the club but with him away on duty with Australia, their reliance will rest on the exploits of Jermain Beckford and Seamus Coleman to fire Everton into the 5th round. The match takes place at Goodison Park and kicks off at 12:30pm.

Liverpool 1 Fulham 0 highlights 26/1/11

Liverpool 1 Fulham 0 highlights 26/1/11

Liverpool seem to be on the rise after Sunday's performance at Wolves and particularly seem buoyed by Torres who scored 3 in the last 2 matches and will be hoping to return to the form he had in his early days at Anfield where he was banging them in for fun. This fixture hasn't been a pleasant one for Fulham in the past, with them famously being slaughtered 10-0 at Anfield in the second round of the league cup in September 1986. Steve McMahon scored four of the goals on that day with Ian Rush and John Wark both scoring two each and Ronnie Whelan and Steve Nicol scoring the other two.

Fulham seem to be in good spirits at the moment with January seeing them record 3 wins and one draw which is their best run of the season thus far. Marksman Andy Johnson is in scintillating form after his return from injury and his good displays has included a goal against Wigan, his first in the premier league for 2 season. New signing for Fulham Steve Sidwell will make his debut on Saturday but he could be lined up to make an appearance tonight should Mark Hughes see fit. The game takes place at the Anfield Road Stadium and kicks off at 8pm.

Blackpool 2 Manchester United 3 highlights 25/1/11

Blackpool 2 Manchester United 3 highlights 25/1/11

Not a shock to anyone to know that these two teams have rarely met each other in the league. The last time was in 1974-75 when both teams were in the old second division and in those games, United resoundly beat the tangerines 3-0 and 4-0. Blackpool under Ian Holloway have surprised many critics this season with some stellar performances and have beaten Liverpool Home and Away and were unlucky to be beaten by Manchester City by a solitary goal in both of their fixtures this season. However it won't be pleasant reading for them going into tonight's match to know that they have earned most of their points away from home with 17 away and 11 at home. It is pretty obvious that Man United will have a better record in head to head meetings between the pair but Blackpool have stunned many people this season so managing a good result against the league leaders wouldn't be that impossible.

However, United are still unbeaten in the league and their obstinate refusal to be defeated and clinical execution of games could be the root to them winning their record breaking 19th title with them two points clear of second place Arsenal with 2 games in hand. The game takes place at Blundell Road and kicks off at 7:30pm.

Bolton 0 Chelsea 4 highlights 24/1/11

Bolton 0 Chelsea 4 highlights 24/1/11

Bolton manager Owen Coyle has called on his team to put on a rousing performance at the Reebok tonight on what will be an emotional night as the club honor the late, great legend of the club, striker Nat Lofthouse. Before the match there will be floral tributes and a minute's silence in respect of maybe the club's most well known player. Bolton certainly need a big performance for other reasons as well as they have gone 4 games on the bounce without a win, albeit with them still being in a proud, lofty position of seventh in the league standings. Wanderers have also found Chelsea a real tough cookie to turn over, having last beat them , all the way back in 2003 with a last minute own goal by John Terry giving the Lancashire club the spoils.

Chelsea themselves will be hoping for a positive result and are buoyed with confidence again after last week's victory over Blackburn which ended a recent dour run of results. The blues however have been stuttering away from home since October and their form has been so faltering that sriker Didier Drogba claims there's no point in talking about themselves retaining their league title untill they manage 2 or 3 straight wins in a row. The match takes place at the reebok stadium and kicks off at 8pm Monday night.

Newcastle 1 Tottenham 1 highlights 22/1/11

Newcastle 1 Tottenham 1 highlights 22/1/11

Newcastle have had a proud record against Spurs in recent years, where Spurs last win on tyneside was back in 2004. Since then the Toon Army have won all of the last 4 encounters that the sides have played and even getting the upper hand of Tottenham in their 2008-09 relegation camppaign in the premiership when goals from Charles N'Zogbia and Damien won Newcastle the spoils. Newcastle currently lie in 9th spot and recently appointed manager Alan Pardew will be hoping they can manage a result against high fliers tottenham, especially after the disappointing draw with rivals Sunderland last week.

Saturday is a crucial day for Redknapp and his Spurs side who has been impressing many faces up and down the land this season and has seen them being penned as true contenders to the throne but lately their form has been more ordinary with a disappointing defeat to Everton away and failing to get more than a stalemate against Manchester United at White Hart Lane. If Redknapp wants his team to be considered true contenders they will need to pick up a result at St James Park tomorrow. The match takes place at St James Park and kicks off at 3pm.

Manchester United 5 Birmingham 0 highlights 22/1/11

Manchester United 5 Birmingham 0 highlights 22/1/11

Manchester United's position is deceiving as whilst they have resoundly seen off many sides at Old Trafford this season, their away form hasn't been as dazzling. They've drawn 8 of their away matches this season and it has definitely not been a champions away form on show. Saying that they are STILL unbeaten this season in the league which is part of the reason why they are sitting pretty at the premiership suumit. The other main reason is that they have almost a 100% record at home. The only visitors to take points from Old Trafford this season are West Brom and that was mainly due to an error from United keeper Van Der Sar. They'll be hoping that another midlands side doesn't hold them on Saturday.

Times were much rosier for Birmingham this time last year, but 12 months on the midlanders are now hovering over the drop zone in 16th and have only clocked up 23 points so far this term. They began the season in a typical resolute set of results but have lately been floundering with only 1 win on their last six outings. The blues will be proud as punch if they can pull off a repeat of the draw at St Andrews that was played out in January then they will be really happy. The match takes place at Old Trafford on Saturday and kicks off at 3pm.

Arsenal 3 Wigan 0 highlights 22/1/11

Arsenal 3 Wigan 0 highlights 22/1/11

Arsenal will be hoping to keep up the fine form they showed against Leeds midweek and keep putting pressure on leaders Manchester United at the top of the league. The Gunners have regained some momentum after a few shakey performances of late and so they will be wanting to raise the roof at the Emirates stadium with a five star display over a weary Wigan side who are languishing in the bottom three. Arsenal however have not been able to turn over the Lancashire club in their past 2 meetings, albeit they were at Wigan's DW stadium, so that may give Wigan some confidence going into Saturday's match, which in their current predicament, is as valuble as gold.

Wigan drew with Fulham last week and see themselves with only 4 wins chalked up on the board for this campaign so far. They will start having to clock up more if they have hope of surviving the drop in May, although the prospect of them finding 3 points against Arsenal on Saturday looks very bleak. However, they have managed to hold the Gunners in their last 2 matches so it isn't completely hopeless they could snatch a victory. The match takes place at the Emirates and kicks off at 3pm.

Wolves 0 Liverpool 3 highlights 22/1/11

Wolves 0 Liverpool 3 highlights 22/1/11

Wolves are, at the moment, struggling heavy in the league in this campaign which has seen a lot of the teams in the league fighting out even contests. Evident in the way the visitors to Molineux on Saturday, Liverpool, are merely 5 points in front of Wolves but rest all the way up in 13th position. The threat of relegation is all too clear for the midlanders and Mick McCarthy will be wanting his side to keep up their recent run of good form which has seen them win 4 out of the last 5 matches and one of the matches being against Chelsea. So Wolves will be hoping to capitalise on Liverpool's stuttering form at the moment with another result to help lift them to a safer position in the table.

Anfield legend Kenny Dalglish still awaits his first win as manager of the reds and has overseen 2 defeats and a draw last week in the merseyside derby, the worst record of any Liverpool boss since Roy Evans failed to win any of his first 3 matches in charge in 1994. The team are in wretched form at the moment and know how priceless some much needed wins will be in boosting morale and in turn steering the reds to a healthier climb in the league. The match takes place at Molienux on Saturday and kicks off at 12:45pm.

Tottenham 0 Manchester United 0 highlights 16/1/11

Tottenham 0 Manchester United 0 highlights 16/1/11

Tottenham haven't been able to get three points from United since May 2001 so they will be wanting to wipe that record from their mind as they prepare to meet the league runners up from last season at White Hart Lane. They certainly have never had a better chance since May 2001 with Spurs stringing a series of fantastic performances together with a high level of consistency which sees them in the 5th place in the league, 8 points away from United, and their most promising team for a long time. United are on a proud run of form at the moment and have still not lost a league match thus far, but if anyone has the ability to change that it's spurs.

Whereas Man United have been churning out results this season, a lot of the time it has been done without a high level of performance and have often produced results clinically with 1 mere goal more than the opposition. Last week United got a result but did it despite going through the motions in the game after an early lead and dismissal for Liverpool giving them an advantage. United will want to start performing with high quality and comprehensively beating sides as the styles of the sides over time have always shown. The match takes place at White Hart lane and kicks off at 4:10pm.

Liverpool 2 Everton 2 highlights 16/1/11

Liverpool 2 Everton 2 highlights 16/1/11

Liverpool have appointed club legend Kenny Dalglish lately to take over the reigns on a temporary basis from sacked Roy Hodgson and the start of his stint has been very much an anti climax, with the FA cup exit to Manchester United at Old Trafford, then the drab defeat to newboys Blackpool midweek, Dalglish will be desperate for the team to record a victory over their merseyside rivals and also help propel the team's morale which at the moment is on the floor. It's almost 2 decades since Dalglish oversaw his last game in charge, a thrilling 4-4 draw with Everton, which following the match saw him resign. the 59 year old is hold in very high regard by the supporters, possibly in higher regard than any other player, as his scoring record and record of trophy success whilst he was there is colossal. His godlike status could take a huge dent if he fails to lift the club's fortunes this season.

Most of the talk going into the merseyside derby will be of Dalglish and Liverpool needing a win but the blues also need to start winning as they are too on a downward slide in the league. The 2 Liverpool sides are almost crying on each other's shoulders in the league as they are right next to each other, a point apart and suffering from a very dour series of performances. This makes the result of Sunday's match ever the more important as both teams are hovering 4 points away from the drop zone and the losers could find themselves in a very precarious position trying to climb back up the premiership standings. The match takes place at Anfield Road stadium and kicks off at 2:05pm.

Sunderland 1 Newcastle 1 highlights 16/1/11

Sunderland 1 Newcastle 1 highlights 16/1/11

There is definitely an eagerly anticipated tyne-wear derby that takes place on Sunday with the Toon mauling their neighbours 5-1 in the corresponding league fixture this campaign and also the fact there hasn't been a 0-0 draw between the sides in the history of the premier league. Newcastle have also only failed to score in once of their last 9 games and last time out they mauled West Ham 5-0. Add in the element of the Magpies not having the most secure back line and them leaking 17 goals on the road this season and there is definitely a healthy sign that there will be a bulge of a net at least once at the Stadium of Light on Sunday.

Despite their tending to usually be goals in this fixture, usually it's Newcastle who come out on top when they meet. The black cats beat their rivals in the 2008-09 season but that was their one and only home victory over Newcastle since 1980. Also the overall results of all time between the sides sees Sunderland lagging behind as in 142 clashes between the sides, Newcastle have won 56, Sunderland 44 wins and 46 have been draws. The match takes place at Sunderland's stadium of light stadium and kicks off at 12pm.

Birmingham 1 Aston Villa 1 highlights 16/1/11

Birmingham 1 Aston Villa 1 highlights 16/1/11

This campaign has seen Alex McLeish's men having the bragging rights around Birmingham, holding them to a 0-0 draw at Villa Park and turning them over in the league cup quarter final in December beating them 2-1. Despite the blues fans joy at the results and having the upper hand over their arch rivals, the last time Birmingham defeated Villa in the league was around 6 years ago. On the back of beating Blackpool in their last league outing, the blues are craving for back to back victories, and if they can manage it, it'd be the first ones achieved since 11 months ago. Sunday's fixture is all the more important and significant as both teams are hobbling around near the foot of the table and so a win over their rivals and a confidence boost is just what both teams need.

Villa go to St Andrews raring to break out of the drop zone and with a win they would leapfrog Birmingham who are in 15th place and only one point ahead of them. Villa's premiership status has been threatened drastically lately with just one win in 9 matches and only taking 5 poins from a possible 27. Plus the defence have been very leaky, not achieving a clean sheet in any of their last 11 matches and the only team in the league who has fared worse defensively is Wolves. The match takes place at St Andrews stadium and kicks off at 12pm.

West Ham 0 Arsenal 3 highlights 15/1/11

West Ham 0 Arsenal 3 highlights 15/1/11

Hammers manager Avram Grant is holding onto his position as coach, for now after a board meeting which took place on Wednesday afternoon and now he will be looking to try and veer the London club off the bottom and out of the drop zone, starting with a result against fellow Londoners Arsenal on Saturday Evening. They managed to secure a 2-1 win over Birmingham in the League Cup semi final on Tuesday and preparing for their first wembley appearance in over 30 years. They will be hoping to build on the morale caused by the position but also the club have only been defeated once in the last six games in a 3-1 loss to high flying Manchester City.

Arsenal, however, are experiencing a downturn in fortunes after only winning 2 of their last 7 encounters and will possibly have a severe knock to their confidence after being defeated 1-0 on Wednesday to championship struggling Ipswich in the League cup semis and they will be hoping for a much better performance with them having to travel to Upton park for this encounter. They are currently languishing 4 points behind leaders Man United and Wenger will know that a win is crucial if they want to regain the league trophy, which they last won 6 and a half years ago.

Manchester City 4 Wolves 3 highlights 15/1/11

Manchester City 4 Wolves 3 highlights 15/1/11

City want to put the pressure on arch rivals United and would be three points closer to them had Wolves not turned over Roberto Mancini's men when they faced each other in October. They lost the match 2-1 at Molineux and will be wanting to seek revenge and also keep up a proud unbeaten home record against the midlanders that dates back more than decade. If they manage to defeat Wolves they will charge to the top of the summit, for at least 24 hours, as United face Spurs on Sunday. If they lose to Wolves, their title chances look very bleak.

Wolves won't be a pushover when they travel to the Eastlands stadium and are reeling after a shock win over the champions Chelsea 1-0, the last time they ran out. With that win they went a long way to dispelling their relegation fears and lifted the club into 17th place in the league and out of the drop zone. When they've travelled away to the league's big cheese teams, Wolves have performed well and boss Mick McCarthy will be hoping they take the giantkilling spirit with them on the journey to Manchester.

Chelsea 2 Blackburn 0 highlights 15/1/11

Chelsea 2 Blackburn 0 highlights 15/1/11

The blues will be hoping the stunning 7-0 demolition of poor Ipswich can stand them in good stead and help them get back into their winning stride in the premier league when they face Blackburn at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Chelsea have had to cope with having their worst run of form in the league for 15 years with only one victory out of the last 9 games but last Sunday's 5 star display showed hints of the ability that got them to the top of the league early on in the campaign and they will be hoping to carry the morale and form into tomorrow's fixture with Rovers to help them catch up with the pace of leaders Man United, who are 9 points ahead of Chelsea with a game in hand.

In the match at Ewood park this season between the sides, Rovers matched the champions for a lot of the match. They also come into Saturday's match on the back of an impressive 3-1 win over Liverpool which culminated in the sacking of Roy Hodgson after the match. Will a defeat for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge bring Ancelotti's reign into question with the Chelsea board? There would definitely be serious questions asked of him if they were to get nothing from the match. In the 100 meetings between the two sides, Chelsea have won 40, Blackburn 32 and there have been 28 draws, but Blackburn have not won at Stamford Bridge in seven attempts since February 2003.

Tottenham 3 Charlton 0 highlights 9/1/11

Tottenham 3 Charlton 0 highlights 9/1/11

Tottenham will be hoping for a positive result on Sunday when they entertain fellow Londoners Charlton at White Hart Lane. Their last outing was a disappointing 3-1 defeat at Goodison Park to Everton on Wednesday night and they will be wanting to maintain the glorious ora that has surrounded teh club this season with brilliant results domestically and abroad. Spurs have won the FA cup eight times including five times when the year has ended in one, a good omen? Perhaps. They lifted the trophy in 1901, 1921, 1961, 1981 and 1991, and with Spurs' stellar displays on the field this year, they have a great chance of going all the way and lifting the cup again.

The Addicks go into Sunday's match managerless and with Keith Peacock as the caretaker manager after Phil Parkinson was given the boot following the 4-2 defeat to Swindon. They haven't won in 5 matches, with 3 draws and 2 defeat so they have the odds stacked against them but they also have nothing to lose from a fixture that everyone expects them to be defeated in. They were initially in second place this season, but after this poor form are now in fifth in League one, nine points adrift of leaders Brighton.

Leicester City will be hoping they can pull off a dramatic unlikely win against premiership high fliers Manchester City when the Manchester blues travel to the Walkers Stadium on Sunday afternoon. City boss Roberto Mancini (pictured left) actually played five games for the foxes in 2001 towards the end of his career and city forward Darius Vassell had a spell at Manchester City in the past. Leicester fans will be hoping that Vassell has his scoring boots on come Sunday as the ex-England international has scored 59 league goals in England and Turkey and has amazingly never been on the losing side when he's scored.

Ex England manager, Sven Goran Erikkson presides over matters at Leicester city nowadays and he has won 8 out of the last 17 games that he has overseen. He has yet to be on the end of a home loss and will be hoping the trend continues under his ex employers Manchester City on Sunday. Chelsea 7 Ipswich 0 highlights 9/1/11

Chelsea 7 Ipswich 0 highlights 9/1/11

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti is under heavy pressure to stop the run of mediocre and poor results for the blues which has seen them slide in the Premier League and seen them crash out of the Champions League. The FA cup holders will be expected to, on paper, easily brush aside Ipswich, who are struggling in the Coca Cola championship and are under the new appointment of Ian McParland after the sacking of Roy Keane on Friday. A poor result on Sunday could be disastrous for Chelsea's season as the only competition they would have left to fare in is the league, which at the moment, does not look promising for their chances to win.

The Tractor Boys go into the tie under caretake manager Ian McParland after Roy Keane was let go after a dismal display of form resulting in just one win in 9 games and hovering right above the drop zone in the Coca Cola Championship. Last season Ipswich fell at the fourth round stage, 2-1 to Southampton and it will take a mighty effort if they are to achieve that stage this time round. Chelsea and Ipswich met roughly 2 years ago in the fourth roudn stage of the FA cup where goals from Michael Ballack and one from Frank Lampard were enough to secure victory for Chelsea over the Suffolk club.

Wolves 1 Chelsea 0 highlights 5/1/11

Wolves 1 Chelsea 0 highlights 5/1/11

Wolves are struggling heavy this season and boss Mick McCarthy knows it will take a huge effort from his team to steer clear of the drop especially when thus far this season a lot of their displays have very dreary. However many of their performances haven't been completely hopeless and it's a matter of waiting until a couple of results go their way and the confidence grows from there. Whether it happens tonight against Chelsea is another story. Last season they lost home and away to the champions and as a whole Wolves have lost to Chelsea in their last six matches. If they were to manage a victory against the blues it could possibly see the team rise to 15th in the standings and it would surely be one of Molineux's finest nights.

This time last year, the blues were heading the table and had only lost three times in the league. This time round however, the story has been far less smooth with a run of shoddy results by the club's standards. The champions have only won once since early November and have had a string of downbeat displays since then including a shocking 3-0 home defeat to Sunderland. Despite their shortcomings they are still only 9 points off the top and a victory for Carlo Ancelotti's side tonight could see them back in the top four, providing Tottenham don't get three points at Everton.

Watch Tottenham vs Everton live stream 13/8/2011

Spurs open up their premiership campaign against the Toffeemen at White Hart Lane. Both clubs had contrasting campaigns last term where Everton started poorly, Spurs started well and where Everton finished higher than expected, Spurs fell behind and weren't able to grab a champions league place that they so craved. Spurs however did make the Europa League this season and will be hoping they can enhance their reputation even more with good displays in that competition as well as good displays in the league. Their aim will surely be to break into the top 4 of the league like they did the season before. For everton it would be to come close to a europa league.

The live match takes place at White Hart lane on Saturday August 13th and kicks off at 3:00pm. To watch a live stream of the match click below:

Blackburn 3 Liverpool 1 highlights 5/1/11

Blackburn 3 Liverpool 1 highlights 5/1/11

Blackburn have struggled since the shock axing of Sam Allardyce from the hot seat. They've averaged one point per game and with Allardyce, they were achieveing 1.5 points per game, a tally that would have helped them steer clear of the drop. Rovers go into this fixture with the ominous knowledge of only having won once in this match in the last decade. Owners, Venky, have declared that they now want a target of 43 points this term after the shakey start to the season. Before the start they were hoping for 57 points at the end of the current campaign.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are in an uncertain position with the management and the executioner's axe stays hovering over Roy Hodgson's head after Liverpool's string of below par performances and Hodgson's unsavoury words towards the Anfield faithful following their miserable defeat to Wolves last week. On Sunday, Joe Cole possibly spared the chop from the boss with a last gasp winner against Bolton but a defeat to lowly Blackburn could see Hodgson too perilously close to the edge. They currently lie six points off the drop zone, 11 points away from the champions league qualification spots and a vast 19 points away from leaders Manchester United. A position far from the Liverpool board's expectations going into this season. A lot of the reason why the reds have fallen short this season is their woeful away record which reads one win, two draws and six defeats. If tonight signals a seventh defeat, it may be Hodgson's last show...

Arsenal 0 Manchester City 0 highlights 5/1/11

Arsenal 0 Manchester City 0 highlights 5/1/11

With an impressive record of 7 points out of 9 over the christmas period, Arsene Wenger will claim that his rotation policy is working wonders and the players that sat it out against Wigan were able to appear in the Birmingham fixture and produce the goods. The gunners see themselves in third, 2 points behind City and are very definitely in this season's title race after some sparkling performances and a solid run of great results including the match that very definitely stamped their authority on this season's race, the 3-1 win over neighbours Chelsea. Confidence about Arsenal breaking their 5 year wait for silverware has never been as high as it has been since 2005 and this could be a crucial season for the future of Arsene Wenger and Arsenal.

The stakes look very ominous for city grabbing 3 points from the Emirates as the last time they were able to do that was 1975! Arsenal have won 21 of the 28 league and cup home games against City since then. After city's huge investments in the transfer market and their greatest displays in the highest tier of english football for the best part of 2 decades, expectation at Eastlands is higher than ever, especially as they currently lie 3 points away from City rivals United. If they were to break the hoodoo that Arsenal have over them at home and dent the challenge of their main rival it could make for a very exciting race this season for the premiership crown. City’s assistant manager, Brian Kidd, who played for both clubs in the 1970s, commented: “All games are big. It is another three points up for grabs just the same as Blackpool. They [Arsenal] beat us fair and square in the first game but I repeat that I wouldn’t change our squad for any other. I don’t fear any team in the league."
