Manchester City will raring to go against Italian legends Juventus, although the Italian club are in somewhat of a revamping period with a new coach and the club making a modest start to their Serie A campaign. Juventus icon Alessandro Del Piero states that tonight's trip to the Eastlands stadium with be a real test for the Italians having to face Manchester City being roared on by their own faithful.

Speaking before training today he said: "Manchester City are in excellent shape and it will be very hard for us. It always is when you are in England. They have invested heavily and one of the reasons they can be successful is that they have a great squad of players."

Juventus are going through a growing period like Manchester City, also with a new coach called Luigi Del Neri, who started in May and they've struggled to find any string of good results to fire them ahead in the Italian league. Del Piero added: "We have a good base to build on and are at the beginning of a journey. Hopefully we our results will improve as time goes on."

Coach Del Neri has an important match against Inter at the weekend but his main concern is the match tonight. "I am only interested in tomorrow not the following match. We will see then if we have improved. A new team always make mistakes. You not only need to fix the problems but also to focus on what you do well."

Team news for City sees Micah Richards being a read contender after struggling with a hamstring injury, Shaun Wright Phillips is a real doubt with knee trouble and Wayne Bridge and Aleksander Kolarov aren't available, however City boss Roberto Mancini thinks Mario Balotelli will be fine to return to action by the end of the month. Initially Balotelli was told he would be out for eight weeks because of an injury. Mancini revealed: "He is in Italy today and his knee is okay. I think he may be ready at the end of October, in four to five weeks."

Seasoned city midfielder Patrick Vieira is also expected to play against his former club Juventus who he spent a season with 2 terms ago.
