Welsh clubs 29 year absence from the top flight of English football comes to an end when they face Manchester City at Eastlands on the first Monday Night kickoff of the new season. Swansea beat Reading in a dramatic playoff final at Wembley in June to be prmoted alongside QPR and Norwich and they will have a baptism of fire as they go to champions league qualifiers Manchester City hoping to come away with a positive result. Swansea's aim for the season will be to consoildate their position in the premier league where by contrast, City's aspirations will be far higher on the back of their most successful season since the 1970's last term, with a top 4 finish and champions league qualification and their first trophy for 34 years with the FA cup being won.
