West Ham 2 Manchester United 4 football highlights 2/4/11
After 2 first half penalties conceded by United and converted by West Ham player Marc Noble, United stormed back in the second half with a Wayne Rooney hat-trick including a penalty and a Javier Hernandez goal to make it 4-2.
West Ham have loved being a fly in the ointment to Manchester United over time, especially at vital times. The East London club wrecked Uniteds title hopes in the late stages of the 1991-92 season and helped Leeds get a leg-up towards the league trophy. In 1995 there was last day heroics from goalkeeper Ludek Miklosko when United were creating gilt edge chances for Andy Cole which all went astray and ended up giving the title to Blackburn and in 2007, future united player Carlos tevez scored the goal at Old Trafford on the last day to keep the hammers up and send Sheffield United down. They've always had a knack to spoil the party for United and today's game will be another chance for the Hammers to upset the league leaders who need to keep clocking up victories with Arsenal and Chelsea steaming up behind.
The hammers have 3 wins in a row at home in all competitions whilst netting 11 times in the process and have 7 wins out of the last 9 as a whole. Meanwhile United are faltering of late away from home this term and as a whole have been mediocre in away matches. If they are to get a result tomorrow at Upton Park they will have to dig deep. If they fail to produce the goods then it could be another miserable day in East London for them. The live match takes place at Upton Park and kicks off at 12:45pm.
