Liverpool are on a roll at the moment and firing on all cylinders. last weekend saw them demolish poor Birmingham at Anfield and the Europa league is firmly in their sights with the possible off chance of champions league football next term if other results go their way. The last times the teams met was December when Liverpool were in a downward spiral under Roy Hodgson and Newcastle were triumphant 3-1 with one of the goals scored by Andy Carroll who now plys his trade with the merseysiders and will be looking for an exact flip of him scoring for the reds in a victory. Newcastle are rooted in midtable and don't have much to play for apart from pride and momentum to go into next season.
